T-Strainer

T-Strainers are used to protect system components like pumps, compressors and measuring devices. As start-up strainers, these filter assembly impurities during the commissioning of systems. Main task is in permament operation as protection against process-related damage to solids and corrosion products. The strainer insert can be removed through the service opening, making regular cleaning easy.

A tee with the same branch serves as the housing base body. The standard is the seamless tee according to EN 10253 type A / type B or according to ASME B 16.9. In accordance with the requirements from pipe classes, welded designs of the same dimensions are also used. The strainer insert can be disassemble for replacement, cleaning or can be omitted after commissioning. The service blind cover closes the housing.

Kossik T-strainers combine the strainer insert and housing individually, thereby guaranteeing safe and bypass-free filtration.

The selection of the suitable wire mesh is based on the maximum particle size for the downstream system parts that are to be protected. The area in the entire branch is used as a filter surface and the flow is evenly distributed in this cross-section. Pressure losses in a clean condition and in a 50% clogged condition, as well as the strength calculation and the bursting safety, are determined according to the specifications of the operating data.
